My name is Debra Lindsey and I am the founder of www.zydecotraveler.com. My love affair with Cajun and Zydeco music began over twenty years ago when a friend of mine played me a tune from a Clifton Chenier album. The music was infectious and I soon found myself on a plane (and then several) traveling to New Orleans and Southwest Louisiana where I fell deeply in love with the music, the food, the unusual and seductive beauty of the bayou, and , most importantly, with the sweetness and simplicity of the people.

My vision in establishing www.zydecotraveler.com is to introduce others to the magic of Southwest Louisiana so that after your visit, you will leave the area with a deep understanding of the simple pleasure of “passing time” and why Southwest Louisiana is a paradise for anyone seeking to get away from the headlong pursuit of work and money for indulgences in great music, food, and people.

One of the great challenges to travel in Southwest Louisiana is that it is often difficult to find out what is happening when and where. Oh sure it easy enough to hop onto highway 10 and follow a road map to the parishes, but the true gems of Southwest Louisiana are hidden away from the main highway. www.zydecotraveler.com, we provide you with all of the information that you will need to make your trip effortless.
